50 YEARS OLD AND GOING STRONG
On behalf of Gayle Aprile and myself I would like to thank everyone involved for the outstanding success of the 50th Anniversary Gala.
We had a great turn out of parents and alumni, approx. 100 people. There were even a few parents who went to Torbank themselves many years ago. We had teachers join us as well as our past Director of 20 years, Isabele Mort and her husband who made the trip from Cape Cod.

We Laughed, ate fine food, drank “Tor Tinis” and really cut a rug to the phenomenal sounds of Shami Arslanian and Steve Weisbart and their Band. We thank you and your band for so generously entertaining us.
Thank you to the teachers who helped in so many ways. Your dedication to the school is, in everyway, treasured.
Thank you to the teenage alumni children for working the event with the professionalism of an adult staff.
A very special thanks to Reed Collyer and Mark Sharon of Collyer Catering. Reed, who is Gayle Aprile’s sister, has generously helped our school so many times with their fabulous culinary creations. This night they went above and beyond any expectations we may have had for the event. Gayle and I thank them from the bottom of our hearts.
We would also like to make a special note of thanks to the following people:
Suzanne Nolan and Mary Haag, both alumni parents, they worked tirelessly to compile and display all our wonderful donations that contributed greatly to the events financial success.
Donna Lombardi, Gael Poltack and Cathy Faiella who helped to make the space look so special with wonderful displays of the children’s artwork.
The event companies of Van Vliet and Trap who most generously allowed me to, once again, use their beautiful linens, table centerpieces and flowers as well as Verde Custom for the use of their much needed lighting equipment.
Last but not least I would like to thank Kenny Schutz. With out Kenny’s expertise in lighting design we would have never been able to successfully transform the New Castle Rec-center into such a truly beautiful and memorable event.
So many parents helped in ways large and small. Every single donation of time, energy, auction items, food, spirit, talent and love are appreciated.
The School raised approximately $6,000.00, some of which we are hoping to divert toward the construction of our new playhouse, which will be built this summer.
On behalf of the parents of the school I would like to make a heart felt thanks to our Director, Gayle Aprile, her husband Rich and their children. Your overwhelming love and dedication are what continue to make Torbank Nursery School a most special place.
